What is AiM MyChron?
AiM MyChron is the world standard in kart data logging. It combines lap timing, GPS, engine data (RPM, water temperature, CHT, EGT), and driver feedback into a single dash-mounted unit. Used by club racers through to professional kart teams worldwide, MyChron gives you the data to understand exactly what's happening on track — and what to change to go faster.
- GPS lap timing — accurate to within metres, no transponder required
- Engine data — RPM, water temperature, CHT, EGT
- Driver inputs — throttle position, brake pressure, steering angle (with sensors)
- Lap comparison — compare your best lap against any other lap or driver
- RaceStudio 3 software — free PC analysis software from AiM
- Track mapping — GPS overlay shows exactly where time is gained or lost

Who is MyChron For?
Club Racers — MyChron 6
The MyChron 6 is the ideal first data logger for club kart racers in New Zealand. GPS lap timing alone will show you where you're losing time. Add a water temperature sensor and RPM, and you have everything you need to tune your kart and improve your driving.
Serious Competitors — MyChron 6 2T
The MyChron 6 2T adds Wi-Fi data download and expanded sensor capability. Charlie Harris uses the 2T at regional and national level — the ability to download and analyse data between sessions without a cable is a genuine competitive advantage.
Junior Drivers & Parents
MyChron data is one of the most powerful coaching tools for junior kart drivers. Aaron and Charlie Harris use GPS line overlay and lap comparison for driver coaching at NZ and AU kart championships — showing junior drivers exactly where they're losing time with data, not guesswork.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Harris Race Radios the official AiM MyChron dealer in New Zealand?
Yes. Harris Race Radios is the official AiM dealer in New Zealand for genuine AiM MyChron products, with full manufacturer warranty and local support from Aaron, Charlie, and Rex Harris.
What does AiM MyChron measure?
MyChron measures lap times (via GPS), RPM, water temperature, and optionally CHT, EGT, throttle position, brake pressure, and steering angle with additional sensors. GPS track position is recorded so you can see exactly where on track each data point was captured.
Do I need sensors with MyChron?
The MyChron 6 comes with a basic RPM sensor. A water temperature sensor is strongly recommended for all kart engines. Additional sensors (CHT, EGT, TPS, brake pressure) add more data but are optional. Contact Rex Harris for advice on the right sensors for your engine and class.
MyChron 5 vs MyChron 6 — which is better?
The MyChron 6 is the current generation and recommended for all new purchases — better GPS, better display, higher logging rate, USB-C charging. MyChron 5 is still supported with parts available. Full comparison →
Is MyChron worth it for beginners?
Yes — especially for junior drivers. GPS lap timing alone is worth the investment. Aaron and Charlie Harris use data coaching at every level from club karting to national championships — the improvement rate for data-coached drivers is consistently faster than feel-based coaching alone.
How hard is MyChron to install?
Basic setup (mount, RPM sensor, water temp sensor, GPS) takes most kart racers 1–2 hours. Rex Harris provides free installation advice and our MyChron 6 Setup Guide walks through every step.
