A camera view shows where the car went. GPS and lap data help you compare the result. Compatible vehicle channels can add context such as throttle or brake information, but those channels do not appear simply because a camera is fitted. Tell us what you want to measure and what electronics the car already has.
Build Your VBOX Video HD2 Track Package
The VBOX Video HD2 Track Package has selectable configurations. Choose by the analysis you need rather than buying every accessory by default:
- Single or dual camera: one well-placed view may answer your coaching question; a second can add driver, pedal or alternative track perspective. Check the package variant and where each camera can be mounted safely.
- With or without the OLED predictive lap-timing display: add an in-car pace reference if live feedback will help the driver. The OLED display is also available separately.
- With or without the CAN splitter: if the HD2 will use the OLED display alongside a CAN or expansion connection, check the CAN Splitter Cable requirement. A splitter provides a connection path; it does not guarantee that a particular vehicle channel is supported.
Before choosing a variant: confirm your camera count, whether you want live predictive timing, and whether the car or another data system will feed the HD2. We can help check the connection plan against the exact equipment.
Choose the Camera and Mounting Position
Good video is usable video. Think about what the driver or engineer needs to see after a session, then choose a secure position and cable route that do not obstruct the driver or interfere with safety equipment.
- VBOX Video HD2 1080p camera: a genuine HD2 camera offered with 3 m or 6 m cable options. Check the required route before choosing length.
- Camera roll-cage mount: check tube size, camera attachment and event mounting rules for the actual vehicle.
- Camera mount extension bar: useful where the standard mounting position does not give the view you need; check rigidity and clearance.
Other mounts, brackets and clamps are available in the VBOX collection. Do not assume a mount fits every roll cage, camera or category simply because its name sounds right.
Using VBOX with AiM Data
You do not always have to choose between your existing AiM installation and VBOX video. The genuine Racelogic RLCAB145 HD2-to-AiM 5-pin CAN cable is listed for connecting a VBOX Video HD2 to a compatible AiM dash or logger with the required connection. The cable alone does not establish compatibility: device model, pinout, CAN configuration, supported channels and setup all matter.

Should I choose one camera or two?
Start with the question you want the video to answer. A single forward-facing view may be enough for lap and line review; a second perspective can add driver or vehicle context. Check your chosen Track Package variant, mounting positions and cable lengths.
Do I need the predictive lap-timing display?
Choose it if useful live pace feedback matters to the driver. If you also plan to connect CAN data or another compatible expansion device to the HD2, check whether the CAN splitter is required for that combination.
Can VBOX Video HD2 show data from my car or AiM dash?
Potentially, with compatible equipment and the correct connection and configuration. The available channels depend on the exact vehicle, dash or logger and VBOX setup. The RLCAB145 cable is an option for a compatible AiM 5-pin CAN connection, not a universal plug-and-play guarantee.
