Motorola DP3400 Professional Digital Motorsport Radio System
The Motorola DP3400 Professional Digital Motorsport Radio System is a complete digital pit-to-car communications package for circuit racing, rally, endurance and off-road competition in New Zealand and Australia. Harris Race Radios configures the car radio, pit radio, wiring, aerial, headset and programming to the team’s requirements.
This is a dual-purpose professional system. It can monitor the appropriate Race Radio while also providing permitted pit-to-car and car-to-pit team communications through the compatible radio, intercom and helmet setup. Read the Race Radios™ monitoring and motorsport communications guide before choosing the required programming.
Who is the DP3400 system for?
The DP3400 suits sprint racing, club competition, single-series endurance, rally and off-road teams that want a professional digital radio system programmed before the event. It is also suitable for teams that need Race Radio monitoring alongside permitted team communications in one configured system.
Race Radio monitoring and primary programming
The system is configured for the primary race series or event requirements supplied before ordering. Depending on the setup, this can include MSNZ, MEGA, GT Members, Quin, Toyota, NZGT and Australian motorsport systems. Frequencies, channel plans, digital settings and licensing requirements vary, so confirm the event, class, venue and required Race Radio before ordering.
Where an event requires competitors to monitor a one-way Race Radio, the appropriate monitoring function remains part of the system configuration. Do not transmit on a controlled one-way event channel.
Why choose the DP3400?
- Digital UHF radio system with motorsport configuration
- DMR Tier II digital radio platform
- Up to 135 programmable channels for Race Radio, team and series requirements
- Digital audio and noise-management features for high-noise race environments
- Pre-programmed by Harris Race Radios for the supplied event or series requirements
- Pit radio configured for automatic Race Radio monitoring where required
- Complete car and pit equipment, wired and tested before dispatch
System includes
- Motorola MotoTrbo DP3400 digital car radio with motorsport firmware
- Motorola digital pit radio configured to the required channels
- Digital Harris car wiring harness and interface electronics
- Radio holding box
- Sealed PTT switch and cable
- Harris high-gain aerial with BNC connector
- IMPRES intelligent chargers

The system does not include a helmet, helmet kit, microphone, speakers or earpieces. These are selected separately to suit the helmet, intercom and class requirements. A radio licence is not included.

DP3400 or DP3600 display system?
The DP3400 is suited to competitors and teams that select their required channel before the event or run a defined series setup. Teams running multiple cars or multiple race series may prefer the Motorola DP3600 Programmable Display System, which is designed for greater channel and race-type flexibility.
Licensing, compatibility and setup
Radio licensing and permitted frequency use depend on the jurisdiction, frequency, event and system configuration. Harris Race Radios can advise on the information needed for New Zealand RSM or Australian ACMA requirements. Tell us the car, helmet, intercom, event, class and communication requirements before ordering so the system can be configured correctly.

Frequently asked questions
Can the DP3400 monitor Race Radio as well as provide team communications?
Yes. When correctly configured, the professional system can combine Race Radio monitoring with permitted pit-to-car and car-to-pit communication. It does not remove any event requirement to monitor the appropriate Race Radio.
Is the DP3400 suitable for digital race-radio systems?
It is a digital professional radio system. Confirm the exact digital event system, channel plan, programming and licensing requirements before ordering.
Does the system include a radio licence?
No. A radio licence is not included. Licensing and permitted use depend on the jurisdiction, frequency and event requirements, so contact Harris Race Radios for NZ RSM or AU ACMA guidance.
What if I need to switch between multiple cars or race series?
The DP3400 is best suited to a defined setup programmed before the event. For larger teams or competitors needing more channel flexibility, compare the Motorola DP3600 Programmable Display System.
What should I provide before ordering?
Provide the event, class, venue, car, helmet, intercom and communication requirements. Harris Race Radios can then confirm the correct programming, system configuration and compatible equipment.
