The Chillout Quantum V3 starter kit provides the cooler and mounting essentials for an iceless motorsport driver-cooling installation. A rotary micro-compressor chills circulating fluid, which carries heat away from the driver through a compatible liquid-cooled garment.

This starter kit is not a complete driver connection package. A cooling garment, connection hose and suitable connectors are not listed among its included components and must be selected separately.

Cooling and controls

The existing V3 specification lists a 20 L/min pump-flow rating, 16 psi pressure rating, five temperature settings and a digital display. These are model-specific listed specifications, not a guarantee of flow or coolant temperature through every installed garment and hose arrangement.

The cooler is listed at less than 5 kg and can be moved between correctly prepared mounting locations. A Quantum Pro/V3 remote control is available separately for installations out of the driver’s reach.

Iceless means there is no ice reservoir to replenish. The system still uses circulating coolant and requires appropriate coolant care, cleaning and inspection. Follow the current manufacturer instructions rather than treating it as maintenance-free.

Complete the installation

Choose a FIA/SFI Pro Touring cooling shirt or SFI Pro Touring Sport shirt according to your garment requirements. The F.A.S.T. cooling-shirt listing is another option to discuss with us; confirm the actual connector arrangement before combining components.

Select suitable insulated cooling hoses, dual-prong connectors or single-tube connectors for your installation. Do not assume different connector styles are interchangeable.

Power, mounting and airflow

Confirm the current V3 installation instructions for supply voltage, wiring, fuse protection and mounting. Earlier listing guidance specified a 35–40 A inline fuse; verify the correct value for your exact unit and wiring before installation rather than applying this range indiscriminately.

Provide an appropriate air supply and heat-discharge path. Cooling performance depends on ambient conditions, airflow, coolant flow and heat load. Secure wiring and hoses away from controls, harnesses and the driver’s exit path.

Driver cooling supports heat management but does not guarantee a particular core temperature or prevent heat illness. Plan hydration, ventilation and driver monitoring alongside the installation.

Frequently asked questions

Does this starter kit include a cooling shirt and hose?

No cooling shirt or driver connection hose is listed as included. The kit contains the Quantum V3 cooler, mounting plate, wiring harness, locking ball pins and priming tube. Choose compatible garment connections separately.

Does the Quantum V3 use ice?

No. It uses a compressor to chill circulating coolant rather than an ice reservoir. The system still requires coolant and the manufacturer’s maintenance procedures.
