The Prisma HPM5 digital tyre pressure gauge with infrared pyrometer helps racers, kart teams and race engineers make faster setup decisions by combining ultra-precise tyre pressure measurement with infrared tyre temperature monitoring in one professional-grade instrument. Fewer guesswork adjustments, more consistent grip, lap after lap.
Available from Harris Race Radios® as a genuine Prisma Electronics product with NZ stock and fast shipping across New Zealand and Australia.
Why Racers Choose the HPM5+PYR-IR
- No calibration required — the internal microprocessor automatically calibrates every time the gauge is switched on, so the reading is reliable every session
- 0.001 BAR / 0.01 PSI resolution — fine enough to see the small pressure changes that move handling
- 12-point infrared tyre temperature measurement — plus track and air temperature, in the same instrument
- 50 stored sessions — pressure and temperature data logged on the gauge, not lost on a scrap sheet
- Wireless app connectivity (iOS & Android) — view, analyse and export your sessions as PDF or Excel
- Custom aluminium tyre chuck — designed by Prisma Electronics to measure without losing air from the wheel valve
That combination is what separates a $599 professional setup tool from a $50 garage gauge: resolution you can trust, data you keep, and readings that are repeatable between sessions and between tyres.
How Tyre Pressure and Temperature Data Improves Your Setup
Tyre pressures tell you what the car or kart is doing now; tyre temperatures tell you why. Consistent 12-point temperature readings across each tyre reveal whether your camber is working the whole contact patch, whether your pressures suit the track, and whether the car is balanced front to rear. That means faster, more accurate camber, pressure and balance changes — and a car that holds its grip deeper into a stint.
Who Uses It?
- Kart teams and karting parents chasing consistent sessions
- Race engineers and driver coaches building setup data
- Club competitors stepping up from analogue gauges
- Professional race teams and endurance crews
Suitable for kart racing, Formula Ford, Formula First, GT and circuit racing, rally, speedway, endurance racing and track days. The HPM5 works as a kart tyre pressure gauge, a tyre temperature gauge for circuit and track-day sessions, and a tyre pressure logger for race engineering debriefs.

Choosing Your HPM5 Model
The HPM5 family shares the same precision pressure platform — you choose how much temperature measurement you add:
- HPM5 pressure gauge — pressure only, the most affordable route
- HPM5 + IR pyrometer (this page) — adds fast, non-contact 12-point tyre temperature readings
- HPM5 + needle probe pyrometer — probe-style core temperature readings
- HPM5 + dual technology pyrometer — both IR and needle in one instrument
- HPM5 + IR pyrometer + stopwatch — full race-day data capture
Pairs Well With
- RaceSense digital tyre gauge & needle pyrometer logger — the alternative route at a lower price point
- AirPro Densimeter — fuel/air monitoring for two-stroke and four-stroke engines

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the HPM5 require calibration?
No. The internal microprocessor automatically performs the calibration procedure every time the gauge is switched on, providing a reliable measurement every session without manual calibration.
What is the difference between infrared and probe pyrometers?
An infrared pyrometer measures the tyre surface temperature instantly without contact, while a needle probe measures the temperature inside the rubber. Surface temperatures respond fastest to setup and track changes, so infrared is ideal for quick session-to-session comparisons; many teams use both. See our HPM5 needle probe version if you prefer probe readings.
How many sessions can it store?
The HPM5 stores 50 pressure and temperature sessions on the gauge, which you can then view and export through the Prisma Electronics app.
Can I export the data?
Yes. Connect wirelessly to the Prisma Electronics app (iOS and Android) to view, analyse and export your stored sessions as a PDF or Excel file.
Is it suitable for kart tyres?
Yes. The 0–7 BAR (100 PSI) range comfortably covers kart operating pressures, and the low-loss aluminium chuck avoids bleeding pressure out of the valve during measurement. Contact us if you would like advice on using it in your karting programme.
Which phones does the app work with?
The HPM5 connects wirelessly to the Prisma Electronics app on both iOS and Android, for viewing, analysing and exporting your stored sessions.
Do you ship to Australia?
Yes. We hold NZ stock and ship to Australia. Contact us for AU shipping rates and lead times.
