AiM PDM08 Power Distribution Module

The AiM PDM08 is an eight-channel motorsport power distribution module that replaces traditional fuse and relay arrangements with configurable solid-state power control, monitoring, and data functions.

It is designed for race-car electrical systems where reliable circuit control, configurable outputs, ECU information, and driver-facing display data need to work together. The PDM08 is available as a module-only option or with selected six-inch or 10-inch dash-display and GPS combinations.

Choose the correct option before ordering: the product options allow a choice of display and GPS configuration. Confirm the dash, GPS, harness, vehicle wiring, and installation requirements for your application.

PDM08 power outputs

  • Eight high-side power outputs.
  • One output rated up to 20 A with a series diode.
  • One output rated up to 25 A.
  • Six outputs rated up to 15 A.
  • Total continuous maximum current up to 100 A as specified for the PDM08 configuration.
  • Outputs can be configured for PWM operation where supported by the application.
  • Output feedback can report circuit status and faults through the connected AiM system.

Race Studio 3 is used to configure the PDM outputs, logic, alarms, and related channels. Electrical protection, current limits, wiring, grounding, and circuit design must be planned for the vehicle rather than assumed from the module alone.

PDM08 inputs and data

  • Six analogue/digital inputs for compatible vehicle signals.
  • Two speed inputs.
  • ECU data through supported ECU protocols.
  • GPS data for lap timing and track position when the GPS option is fitted.
  • Data from compatible expansion modules and CAN keypads.
  • Monitoring of PDM output current and channel status.
  • User-defined maths channels where supported by the connected AiM configuration.

The PDM08 can combine electrical control and motorsport data functions in one vehicle system, but exact available channels depend on the connected ECU, sensors, expansions, GPS, display, firmware, and Race Studio 3 configuration.

Dash display and GPS options

The available product options include:

  • Display: no display, add a six-inch display, or add a 10-inch display.
  • GPS: no GPS or add the compatible GPS option.

The optional display can replace conventional gauges and warning lamps with configurable pages, alarms, shift lights, and vehicle information. The optional GPS supports lap timing and track-position functions in the compatible AiM system.

Race Studio 3 configuration

Race Studio 3 is used to configure compatible PDM channels, ECU protocols, digital outputs, maths channels, display pages, alarms, shift lights, track data, and connected expansions. The software and firmware should be taken from AiM's current official sources rather than from an old third-party download.
