What Does 2x2 Mean?

2x2 refers to the webbing configuration: 2" (50mm) shoulder straps and 2" (50mm) lap straps. This configuration is specifically designed for use with FHR/HANS devices. The 2" shoulder straps fit correctly within the FHR tether attachment points and sit within the iliac crest of the pelvis for maximum safety. For most NZ and AU circuit and rally competitors using a HANS device, 2x2 is the correct configuration.

Schroth Harness Homologation

FIA 8853-2016 harness homologation lasts 5 years from the date of manufacture, as marked on the FIA label on the left shoulder strap. After this date the harness must be replaced regardless of condition — this is an MSNZ and Motorsport Australia requirement.
