What Is a MyLaps Subscription?

A MyLaps subscription is a time-based licence that activates your TR2 transponder for use at timed events. Without an active subscription, your transponder will not register with the timing system — your laps will not be recorded and you will not appear in official results.

Subscriptions are purchased and managed entirely through the Speedhive app on your phone. You do not need to send your transponder away or contact MyLaps directly.

For any competitor racing a full speedway season, the TR2 is the better long-term investment. The unlimited warranty alone justifies the price difference over multiple seasons — if the unit fails for any reason while your subscription is current, MyLaps replaces it at no cost.

How to Buy and Activate Your Subscription

  1. Download the Speedhive app (iOS or Android) and create or log in to your MyLaps account
  2. Register your TR2 transponder using the serial number or Bluetooth pairing
  3. Tap Subscriptions in the app and select your transponder
  4. Choose your subscription duration (2-year or 5-year options available)
  5. Complete payment through the app
  6. Your transponder activates immediately — confirm with your club timekeeper that your transponder ID is registered for your entry

Renewing Your Subscription

Renew through the Speedhive app before your current subscription expires. MyLaps will notify you via the app when renewal is due. Do not let your subscription lapse mid-season — if it expires during an event, your transponder will not register.

What Happens If My Subscription Lapses?

If your subscription expires, your transponder will not function at timed events. The unlimited warranty on the TR2 also reverts to standard terms until a new subscription is activated. Renew as soon as possible to restore both timing function and warranty coverage.
