The Stilo ST6 F Zero Carbon Helmet delivers ultra-lightweight, high-tensile carbon fibre protection — approved to FIA 8860-2018, the highest FIA homologation standard for circuit and GT motorsport. Designed to minimise neck strain while providing superior head protection, with integrated radio connection and a dynamic noise-cancelling microphone for clear communication and maximum comfort during long race events.
Looking for FIA 8859-2024 / SA2025 certification? See the ST6 F Carbon — PURO carbon shell with dual FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2025 homologation. For a GT-specific carbon shell with full WRC intercom, see the ST6 GT 8860 Carbon.
Technical Specifications
Shell — ‘Zero’ High-Tensile Carbon Fibre with PURO Technology
The ST6 F Zero Carbon is crafted from Stilo's proprietary ‘Zero’ carbon fibre, manufactured using PURO technology — a specialised process that eliminates the need for a clear coat, reducing weight further and offering ultimate head protection with minimal neck strain.
Why it matters: Conventional carbon helmets require a lacquer or filler layer to achieve a smooth finish, adding weight that serves no structural purpose. PURO removes this entirely. In a high-G cornering environment, even small reductions in helmet weight directly reduce neck muscle fatigue and strain — a measurable performance and safety benefit over a long race.
Weight
From 1,240 g (XS shell). Up to 10% lighter than the previous ST5 F Zero model. Larger shell sizes will be marginally heavier.
Why it matters: At 1,240 g, the ST6 F Zero Carbon is among the lightest FIA 8860-2018 approved helmets available. Less neck strain means better focus and reduced fatigue over long stints — critical in GT and endurance racing.
Certification — FIA 8860-2018
FIA 8860-2018 is the highest FIA homologation standard for circuit racing helmets — above FIA 8859-2024. It is mandatory for Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, and many top-level single-seater and GT series globally, introducing the most stringent impact attenuation, penetration resistance, and retention system testing of any FIA helmet standard.
Why it matters: If your series requires FIA 8860-2018, no other standard is an acceptable substitute. The ST6 F Zero Carbon meets this requirement while delivering the weight and comfort advantages of Stilo's Zero carbon fibre construction.
Shell Construction
Four shell sizes for a more precise fit across the full size range — ensuring the shell geometry is optimised for each head size rather than stretching a single shell across all sizes.
Ventilation
Six chin bar vents, along with crown vents and padding channels, ensure maximum airflow to keep you cool and prevent visor fogging — maintaining clear visibility and improving driver focus even in the heat of competition. Special channels in the padding further enhance airflow through the helmet interior, keeping you cooler and reducing fatigue.
Integrated Radio Electronics
Adjustable dynamic noise-cancelling microphone and built-in radio connection port ensure clear, uninterrupted communication without the hassle of external wires — essential for quick and precise team coordination. In-ear speaker connection with integral wiring and connector allows seamless integration of in-ear speakers for direct, clear communication during critical race moments.
Visor
Updated visor with high-performance anti-fog treatment that doesn’t wash off, ensuring long-lasting clarity race after race. Refined pivot mechanism updated for more effortless operation and easier fitment. Pioneering one-hand visor locking meets the strictest FIA 8860-2018 safety regulations in both fully closed and ventilated positions. Wider lower aperture for improved downward vision of dashboard and cockpit controls.
Cheek Padding
Re-designed cheek pads offer a closer fit and improved stability, enhancing comfort while driving. Customisable with different thickness options (available separately) for a tailored fit and better support.
Additional Features
Enhanced aerodynamics optimised for open cockpit racing — reduces wind noise and drag. Drinks system ready — prepared for hydration tube integration. Top Air System compatible. FHR posts factory fitted.
Included Extras
The ST6 F Zero includes the following extras specific to the Zero model: 1 x dark smoke visor, 1 x medium smoke visor, 1 x visor tear-off kit, clear front spoiler, clear rear spoiler, and a high-quality padded helmet bag.
Sizes Available
54cm, 55cm, 56cm, 57cm, 58cm, 59cm, 61cm, 63cm, 64cm. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact Aaron Harris — MSNZ Licence Examiner for helmets, he fits helmets regularly and can advise on correct sizing for your head shape.
Audio Configuration — How It Works
The ST6 F Zero Carbon includes integrated radio electronics with a dynamic noise-cancelling microphone. Select your preferred audio output when ordering — Harris Race Radios configures the helmet before dispatch.

- Speaker Ear Cups — Large padded ear cups with built-in speakers. Best for noisy circuit and GT environments. Provides passive noise isolation alongside clear audio. Most popular for intercom and radio use in loud cockpits.
- Earpiece Connection — Compatible with most aftermarket earpieces. Preferred by professional drivers and competitors in categories where only earpieces are permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the ST6 F Zero Carbon legal for GT and circuit racing in NZ and AU?
Yes — FIA 8860-2018 is accepted by Motorsport Australia and MSNZ for GT and circuit events requiring the highest FIA standard. Always confirm your specific series regulations with your organiser.
What is the difference between FIA 8860-2018 and FIA 8859-2024?
FIA 8860-2018 is the higher standard — mandatory for Formula 1, F2, F3, and many top-level GT series. FIA 8859-2024 is the current standard for the majority of circuit and rally events. If your series requires 8860, the ST6 F Zero Carbon is the correct choice.
What is PURO technology on the ST6 F Zero Carbon?
PURO is Stilo's proprietary carbon fibre manufacturing process. It produces a flawless shell finish from the mould, eliminating clear coats and fillers — removing non-structural weight and reducing neck strain over a race distance.
What extras are included with the ST6 F Zero Carbon?
The Zero model includes: 1 x dark smoke visor, 1 x medium smoke visor, 1 x visor tear-off kit, clear front spoiler, clear rear spoiler, and a high-quality padded helmet bag.
