Who Should Consider Arm Restraints?

Open-cockpit competitors, including drivers in sprint cars, midgets, buggies and other open vehicles, should check their current category rules for arm-restraint requirements. This is not a claim that these restraints are compulsory or eligible in every such class. Confirm the exact vehicle, age group, sanctioning body and event requirements before buying.

Fit and Harness Compatibility

Check Sparco's instructions for cuff position, attachment, adjustment and compatibility with your harness. Do not attach to an arbitrary belt, chassis point or fitting based on appearance alone.

Check the setup while seated in the car, wearing your race suit and fully secured harness. Adjust to the manufacturer's instructions, then confirm you can reach the steering wheel, switches and required emergency controls without excessive restriction. Practise the specified release and exit procedure before competition. Do not assume a universal quick-release arrangement or one-size fit for every driver.
