The Schroth Interior Window Door Net is a race-car driver restraint net for a roll-cage installation. It helps limit lateral movement of the driver’s head and upper body in an angled impact, working alongside the seat, harness and other required safety equipment. This is a net, not a replacement for a correctly installed seat, harness or FHR.
What to check before ordering
- Fit and position: Confirm the mounting points, seat geometry, side of installation and required clearance in your car. Install the net in the orientation and within the angles specified in Schroth’s instructions.
- Release access: Check that the quick-release can be reached and operated as required by your series and installation instructions.
- Certification: Check the label and documentation supplied with the exact net against the current rules for your discipline, class and event in New Zealand or Australia. Do not assume an interior driver net also satisfies an exterior window-net requirement.
- Package contents: Confirm the mounting hardware and exact net configuration before ordering or installation.
Schroth describes polyester webbing and a quick-release mechanism for this net. For race scrutineering, use the manufacturer’s installation instructions and check the exact item’s FIA 8863-2013 marking where required. Acceptance depends on the installed configuration and your event rules.
Need help matching a restraint system?
Harris Race Radios™ can help you compare safety-equipment options for a motorsport cockpit. Aaron Harris’s racing and race-engineering experience informs selection advice; his MotorSport NZ Licence Examiner role concerns licences, not certification of safety equipment. Browse racing harnesses and accessories and the Schroth range, or contact us to discuss the car and series before you order.
Common questions
Is this the same as an exterior window net?
No. Interior driver restraint nets and exterior window nets serve different positions; check your series rules for which are required.
Will this net be accepted for my event?
That depends on the label on the exact item, its installation and the current rules for your class and event. Confirm requirements with the organiser or scrutineer before relying on it.
