The Rugged Radios CH-O-2 Off-Road Car Harness is a professional off-road racing communications harness designed to connect a driver's helmet communication system, push-to-talk switch, and race radio into one clean, integrated wiring run. Whether you're competing in UTV racing, short course, desert racing, buggy events, or trophy truck competition, the CH-O-2 delivers dependable driver-to-crew audio in the harshest race environments.
Designed specifically for 4-Conductor (4C) off-road wired helmets, the CH-O-2 connects your radio, PTT, and helmet cable for the easiest installation ever. Built with Rugged's Total Shield RF-blocking wire and a moulded Y-block, this harness is engineered to survive the vibration, dust, and abuse of off-road racing. The universal 5-pin radio connection and standard 3-pin PTT jack mean it works with the full Rugged Radios radio lineup. A radio jumper (sold separately) is required to connect to your specific handheld or mobile radio.
⚠️ Note: This is an OFF-Road (4C) connection harness. It is NOT compatible with Harris, IMSA, or 3C road race helmet connectors. If you need a Harris/IMSA adapter, see the Roux Harris IMSA Helmet Kit to OFFROAD Adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a radio jumper with the CH-O-2?
Yes. The CH-O-2 uses a universal 5-pin radio connection, so a separate radio jumper is required to connect to your specific handheld or mobile radio. The CH-O-RH has a built-in jumper for Rugged and Kenwood handhelds if you want a plug-and-play option.
What helmet connector does the CH-O-2 use?
The CH-O-2 uses a 4-Conductor (4C) off-road helmet jack — the blue Rugged Radios connector. It is not compatible with Harris, IMSA, or 3C road race connectors.
Can I use the CH-O-2 in a UTV or buggy?
Yes. The CH-O-2 is purpose-built for off-road race vehicles including UTVs, buggies, trophy trucks, and short course race cars. It's one of the most widely used harnesses in UTV and desert racing.
Will this work with my Rugged R1 radio?
Yes, with the appropriate radio jumper. The CH-O-2's 5-pin connection is universal across the Rugged Radios lineup including the R1, RDH16, and M1 radios.
How long are the cables?
The helmet lead is 9 ft. The PTT lead is 3 ft. The radio jumper lead is 6.5 in (jumper sold separately).
Does Harris Race Radios stock this in NZ?
Yes — we hold NZ stock for fast local dispatch. Orders also ship to Australia.
