AiM RPM Cable for MyChron
This genuine AiM RPM cable is suitable for MyChron 6 and MyChron 5 kart data loggers, connecting the kart's RPM pickup to the logger. It's sold and supported by Harris Race Radios as AiM's motorsport data specialists in New Zealand and Australia.
Before ordering
- Confirm which MyChron model (5 or 6) the cable is required for.
- Confirm the kart engine's RPM signal source (coil, inductive pickup, or other) is compatible.
- Route the cable away from heat, abrasion, and moving components, and away from receivers to reduce interference.
- Test RPM readings against a known reference before relying on the display for setup or competition.

Which MyChron models is this cable for?
It's wired for MyChron 6 and MyChron 5 kart data loggers, plugging into the RPM input on either unit.
What RPM sources does it connect to?
It's designed for the RPM pickup lead run from the ignition coil, which is how most 2-stroke kart engines (Rotax, X30, TaG, KZ) send RPM to a MyChron. If your engine uses a different pickup, tell us the engine and we'll confirm.
Do I need a separate sensor as well as this cable?
No, for a standard coil-fed RPM signal this cable is the full connection; you don't need an additional RPM sensor. If your kart uses an inductive clamp-on pickup instead, a different cable is needed — ask us if you're not sure which your kart has.
