HANS IV 20° FHR Head & Neck Restraint

The HANS IV 20° frontal head restraint (FHR) is a lightweight, value-focused option for club competitors using upright seating positions in saloon, hatch, GT and rally cars. Its revised shape, removable foam pads and sliding tethers focus on comfort and practical head movement when correctly matched to your helmet, harness and driving position.

Small and Medium size guide

Use collar measurements as a starting point, then check shoulder fit and comfort with your racewear, helmet and harness in the car. The published ranges overlap; do not select solely by a T-shirt size.

• Small: 13–15.5 in (33–39 cm) collar size; listed weight 765 g with pads.
• Medium: 15–17.5 in (38–44 cm) collar size; listed weight 720 g with pads.

Helmet, harness and seating compatibility

Check that your helmet has compatible FHR anchor posts and that your harness and installation are suitable for a HANS device. Confirm tether connections, shoulder-belt routing and clearance in your normal driving position using the manufacturer's instructions. Do not assume a helmet is compatible simply because it is a motorsport helmet.

FIA lifetime certification

The HANS IV is listed as FIA 8858-2010 certified. FIA certification has no fixed time limit; this lifetime certification is distinct from the five-year SFI certification period. Lifetime certification does not mean damaged equipment can continue in service. Follow the manufacturer's inspection and replacement instructions, including after an accident. Check the physical label and current requirements of your NZ or Australian category and event organiser.
