AiM ECU Logger for Motorsport Data Acquisition

The AiM ECU Logger is a dedicated motorsport data-acquisition unit for recording supported ECU information and related vehicle channels. It is intended for installations where ECU data needs to be captured, reviewed, and analysed without relying on a dash display as the primary logger.

The ECU Logger is a data-acquisition product, not a universal ECU interface. Compatibility depends on the ECU make and model, protocol, connection method, firmware, wiring, and the channels exposed by the vehicle system.

Connection and optional-extra choices

The current product record has two connection choices, CAN/RS232 and OBDII, plus optional GPS09, ACC2 OPEN, and four-port Data Hub choices. Confirm the exact connection, extra, harness, and included hardware shown for the selected variant before ordering.

ECU data logging

  • Records supported ECU data for motorsport analysis and setup work.
  • Works within the AiM data workflow using compatible ECU protocols and configuration.
  • Can be used with related AiM sensors, GPS, CAN, and expansion equipment where the complete system supports those connections.
  • Provides a dedicated logging route for vehicle data without describing the ECU Logger as a dash display.

Do not assume that every ECU channel is available. The actual data set depends on the ECU driver or protocol, ECU configuration, wiring, firmware, and the AiM configuration applied to the installation.

Race Studio 3 configuration and analysis

Race Studio 3 is used to configure compatible ECU data channels, maths channels, logging settings, track information, and data-analysis workflows. After a session, recorded data can be downloaded and reviewed using the appropriate AiM software tools.

Choosing and installing an ECU Logger

Before ordering, confirm the ECU brand and model, available ECU protocol, connector and harness requirements, required channels, power arrangement, and whether the logger needs to share data with a dash, PDM, GPS, or other AiM device.

Installation involves ECU and vehicle wiring, power, grounding, communications, and configuration. It should be completed by someone familiar with the vehicle's electrical and data systems.
