The AiM LCU-One S Lambda Controllers purpose is to monitor air/fuel ratios. When connected to a dash display it will tune the carburetion of your engine to ensure top performance.
Compatibility
This device needs to be connected to a dash display which can be any of the following:
or the following loggers
This Lambda controller uses a wide band Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor for saving the original calibration for the duration of the sensors like. The LSU 4.9 prove has been designed to last over 100,000 kms on a stock car making it very reliable. This AiM LCU-One S is compatible with petrol (2 and 4 strokes) methanol as alcohol-based fuel engines.
The fuel input, power output and air-fuel ratio are key to your fuel tuning. The information this unit provides is vital for the longevity of your engine, an engine with too much oxygen causes it to 'lean' and will shorten the life of your engine. In contrast low oxygen in your exhaust may mean a rich engine getting more fuel than it needs. Having readily available access to these figures means you have the ability to make adjustments on the fly and determine an optimal lambda figure.
The LCU-One S can detect lambda values from 0.65 to 1.6 (a value lower than one means a rich mixture, while a value higher than one means a lean variety), offering you an exact measurement. It does this by analyzing the remaining oxygen in the carburetion. Configurability of Stoichiometric ratio allows LCU-One S use on petrol-powered engines and diesel or alternative fuel (biofuel, ethanol).
Installation
You should install the lambda sensor at the point, which permits a representative exhaust-gas mixture measurement, which does not exceed the maximum permissible temperature.
Install at a point where the gas is as hot as possible.
Observe the maximum permissible temperature.
As far as possible, install the sensor vertically (wire upwards), with the tip not being vulnerable if another kart bumps into you.
The sensor is not to be fitted near the exhaust pipe outlet so that the influence of the outside air can be ruled out.
The exhaust-gas passage opposite the sensor must be free of leaks to avoid the effects of leak-air.
Protect the sensor against condensation water.
The sensor is not to be painted, nor is wax to be applied or any other forms of treatment. Use only the recommended grease for lubricating the thread.
