Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these spacers to convert between different PCD patterns?
No — these spacers are not PCD converters. Both your boss and steering wheel must use the same PCD (either 6x70mm or 6x74mm) for these spacers to work correctly. If your boss and wheel have different PCDs, you need a PCD adapter, not a spacer.

Which length should I choose?
The right length depends on your seat position, arm length, cockpit depth, and personal driving style. As a general guide: 10–20mm suits minor adjustments, 40–60mm is the most common range for standard race seat setups, and 80–120mm suits drivers with a very reclined seat or longer arm reach. If you’re unsure, contact Aaron Harris for advice tailored to your car and driving position.

Are these legal for motorsport use in NZ and Australia?
Steering wheel spacers are generally permitted in MSNZ and Motorsport Australia sanctioned events provided the steering wheel remains securely fitted and quick-release function (where fitted) is maintained. Always check your specific series or scrutineering regulations, as some categories have restrictions on steering column modifications.

Do these work with a quick-release hub?
Yes — in most cases a steering wheel spacer can be installed between the quick-release and the steering wheel, or between the boss and the quick-release, depending on your setup. Contact Aaron Harris to confirm the correct installation order for your specific hub and quick-release combination.

Are these available in NZ and Australia?
Yes. Harris Race Radios is the B-G Racing supplier with NZ stock and shipping available to Australia for B-G Racing, with NZ stock held locally for fast dispatch to customers across New Zealand and Australia.

What steering wheel brands are compatible with the 6x70mm version?
Momo, Sparco, OMP, Motacorsa, and Reverie all use the 6x70mm PCD pattern and are compatible with all lengths (10–120mm).

What steering wheel brands are compatible with the 6x74mm version?
Nardi and Personal use the 6x74mm PCD pattern and are compatible with the 40mm, 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, and 120mm lengths. The 10mm and 20mm spacers are not available in 6x74mm.
