Why Accurate Tyre Pressure Matters in Motorsport

Tyre pressure is part of the setup baseline alongside tyre condition, temperature, vehicle load and suspension geometry. Pressure changes can affect tyre behaviour and handling balance. Cold and hot targets depend on the tyre, vehicle, conditions and event: start with the tyre supplier's guidance and refine the setup using recorded measurements and driver feedback.

Use the same gauge, units and checking routine for consistent comparisons. Record cold pressures before running, then check hot pressures promptly after sessions in a consistent wheel order. Note timing, weather, session length and setup changes, because tyres cool between checks. Recheck after adjustments, seat the chuck properly and wait for a stable reading.

The backlit display supports low-light checks, and the bleed valve helps make controlled pressure reductions. Fine display increments help record changes, but do not themselves guarantee greater accuracy.
