The Stilo ST6 F Carbon Helmet is the flagship of the ST6 circuit racing range — dual certified to FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2025, built from an ultra-lightweight PURO Super Smooth carbon fibre shell developed through World Endurance Championship and Formula One programmes. If you are competing in circuit racing, hillclimb, or any FIA-sanctioned series in NZ or Australia, this is the benchmark helmet.

Looking for the composite shell? See the ST6 F Composite — same FIA 8859-2024 and SA2025 certification at a lower price point. For GT and endurance racing with sun visor and HANS posts, see the ST6 F GT Composite.

Technical Specifications

Shell — PURO Super Smooth Carbon Fibre

The ST6 F Carbon uses Stilo's proprietary PURO Super Smooth carbon fibre manufacturing process — a specialised layup technique that produces a flawless shell finish directly from the mould, eliminating the need for traditional clear coats, lacquers, or heavy fillers.

Why it matters: Conventional carbon helmets require a lacquer or filler layer to achieve a smooth finish, adding weight that serves no structural purpose. PURO removes this entirely, trimming crucial grams from the finished helmet. Over a long race, even small reductions in helmet weight directly reduce neck muscle fatigue and strain — a measurable performance and safety benefit.

Weight

From 1,230 g (size XS/54, shell size dependent). Larger shell sizes will be marginally heavier.

Why it matters: At 1,230 g, the ST6 F Carbon is among the lightest FIA 8859-2024 certified helmets available. In a high-G cornering environment, a heavier helmet amplifies the load on the neck and cervical spine — lighter helmets reduce fatigue, improve comfort over race distance, and reduce injury risk in an impact.

Certifications — FIA 8859-2024 & Snell SA2025 (Dual Homologated)

FIA 8859-2024 is the current FIA homologation standard for circuit racing helmets, replacing FIA 8859-2015. It introduces more stringent impact attenuation, penetration resistance, and retention system testing than its predecessor.

Snell SA2025 is the current Snell Memorial Foundation standard for automotive racing helmets. Snell certification involves independent third-party testing — helmets are purchased off the shelf and tested without manufacturer involvement, making it one of the most rigorous independent certification processes in motorsport.

Why dual certification matters: Most helmets carry one standard. The ST6 F Carbon carries both — future-proofing your investment as series regulations transition to the newer standards through 2025–2027.

Shell Construction

3-shell carbon fibre construction — three distinct shell sizes cover the full size range (XS through XXXL), ensuring the shell geometry is optimised for each head size rather than stretching a single shell across all sizes.

Sizes Available

XS (54), S (55), M (57), L (58), L (59), XL (61), XXL (63), XXXL (64). If you are between sizes or unsure, contact Aaron Harris — MSNZ Licence Examiner for helmets, he fits helmets regularly and can advise on correct sizing for your head shape.

Audio Connector — How It Works

The ST6 F Carbon uses Stilo’s proprietary EzyFlow audio connector. Select your audio connector option on this page. Harris Race Radios fits your chosen connector directly to the helmet before dispatch.

Motorsport helmet audio connector comparison — EarMuff, Stilo Connector, 3.5mm Mono, RCA

  • EarMuff / Speakers — Large padded ear cups with built-in speakers. Best for noisy environments — circuit, GT, endurance, and off-road. Provides passive noise isolation alongside clear audio. Most popular for loud cockpits.
  • Stilo Earbud Connector — Stilo’s proprietary push-lock connector, exclusive to Stilo helmets. Not compatible with third-party earpieces without an adapter.
  • 3.5mm Mono Connector — The most widely used audio connector in NZ, Australia, and the USA. Compatible with the majority of aftermarket earpieces and radio setups. The go-to choice for non-Stilo custom earpieces.
  • RCA Connector — Predominantly used in European race teams and systems. Check your audio input type before selecting.

Not sure which connector suits your setup? Contact us and we’ll match you to the right option.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PURO technology on the Stilo ST6 F Carbon?
PURO Super Smooth is Stilo’s proprietary carbon fibre manufacturing process. It produces a flawless shell finish from the mould, eliminating clear coats, lacquers, and fillers — removing non-structural weight and reducing neck strain and fatigue over a race distance.

How much does the Stilo ST6 F Carbon weigh?
From 1,230 g for the smallest shell size (XS/54). Weight increases marginally with larger shell sizes.

What is the difference between the ST6 F Carbon and ST6 F Composite?
