This wired offroad package combines the Pyrotect Pro Air MFA SA2025 12K carbon helmet with a fitted Rugged Radios helmet kit. The current carbon supply is 12K, replacing the former 3K offering. MFA is the mid-forced-air model, also known within the Pro Air Vortex naming family. Harris Race Radios™ sources Pyrotect helmets directly from Pyrotect and matches helmet audio to the driver's communications requirements.

This is the fitted-audio package, not the standard unwired MFA helmet. The Rugged kit is NZ$169 fitted when added to the helmet; the selected package selling price is NZ$2,149 including that installation. There is no additional fitting charge for the included kit.

Mid-air cooling and practical cockpit routing

The mid-mounted inlet provides a connection for a compatible forced-air supply. Choose the hose route with the driver seated and harness secured, checking head movement, seat and head-restraint clearance. A properly matched air supply can help manage heat and shield fogging, while filtration helps manage airborne dust.

Match the pumper, filter, hose and inlet connection to the helmet and cockpit. Performance depends on the whole system and conditions; a forced-air helmet is not a guarantee against dust or fogging. An air pumper and hose are separate equipment, not included in this helmet-and-audio package.

Fitted communications, matched to the system

The package includes a fitted Rugged Radios offroad helmet kit. Confirm the supplied microphone, speaker or earpiece arrangement, helmet lead and connecting cable against your particular intercom or radio. Do not assume that every wired helmet connects directly to every system.

Correct microphone positioning, secure cable routing and clear driver-to-navigator or crew audio help reduce repeated instructions and distraction in a noisy car. The helmet and fitted kit are not a complete two-way radio system: vehicle intercoms, radios and connecting cables must be selected separately.

Helmet selection and fit

Choose this model for its 12K carbon construction, mid-forced-air layout and the required fitted-audio package. Check the physical SA2025 label and match the helmet style and configuration to the current requirements for your racing discipline, class and event.

Measure around the widest part of the head, above the eyebrows and ears, and use the current model-specific size chart. Head shape, crown contact, cheek support and retention matter as well as circumference. If between sizes or experiencing pressure points, ask for fit advice rather than automatically choosing a larger shell.

Test fit with the intended balaclava and helmet audio. Speakers, earpieces, microphones and cables should not create pressure points or interfere with straps. Pads refine a suitable helmet fit; they do not make an unsuitable shell shape suitable. Read our motorsport helmet fitting guide.

NZ and Australian motorsport use

SA2025 is the current Snell motorsport helmet standard. Check the physical label, condition, helmet style, FHR configuration and current rules for your particular NZ or Australian discipline, category and event. This is the fitted Rugged helmet-audio package. The standard MFA listing is the unwired helmet. Select the package that matches your intended communications system.

Should I automatically size up between sizes?

No. Ask for fit advice and assess head shape, retention and the intended helmet audio. Headliner and cheek pads should refine an appropriate helmet fit.
