Why Corner Weighting Matters
Corner weighting is one of the most important and most overlooked aspects of race car setup. Even small imbalances in weight distribution affect handling balance, tyre wear, and lap times. A properly corner-weighted car is more consistent, more predictable, and faster — regardless of driver skill level. Aaron Harris uses corner weight scales as a standard part of professional race car preparation at every level from club racing to international endurance events.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does cross weight mean?
Cross weight (also called wedge) is the percentage of total weight carried on diagonally opposite corners of the car. Adjusting cross weight changes the handling balance — more cross weight tightens the car (understeer), less loosens it (oversteer). Getting cross weight right is critical for consistent lap times.
Do I need levelling trays with these scales?
Yes — for accurate corner weight readings, the scales must be on a perfectly level surface. B-G Racing Scale Pad Levelling Trays (sold separately) are designed to work with these scales and ensure consistent, accurate measurements.
Is this available in NZ and Australia?
Yes. Harris Race Radios is the official Australasian distributor for B-G Racing, with stock available for fast dispatch to customers across New Zealand and Australia via NZC and DHL Express.
