Choosing a Mobile Radio
A mobile radio is installed in the vehicle and connected to its power supply. Compared with a handheld, a suitable vehicle-mounted setup may offer useful range and audio advantages, depending on antenna, terrain, installation and permitted operating settings. Check the exact model’s specifications and your intended service before ordering.
- RDM-DB digital mobile radio: ask us which configuration, channels and approvals suit your NZ or Australian use. Do not assume UHF CB operation or approval merely because a unit can be programmed to a frequency.
- M1 digital VHF mobile radio: intended for a different radio service, not NZ or Australian UHF CB. Check the applicable licensing and operating rules for your intended use.
- GMR45 GMRS mobile radio: US GMRS operation is not an NZ or Australian UHF CB authorisation. Do not assume a US-configured GMRS unit may be used locally.

Can I use a US GMRS radio locally?
US GMRS authorisation does not establish approval for use in New Zealand or Australia. Ask us about equipment and configurations appropriate to your intended local radio service.
