The F stands for Full Comms. The Roux R1-F SA2025 comes fitted as standard with everything you need for in-car communications:

What Does R1-N Mean?

The N stands for No Comms. The Roux R1-N SA2025 is the same helmet — same Italian-made hand-laid fiberglass shell, same SA2025 homologation, same Pininfarina design — but without the factory-fitted communications hardware. There is no microphone, no speaker pods, no drink tube, and no HANS anchors pre-installed.

The R1-N is speaker-ready — meaning Harris Race Radios can fit helmet speakers for one-way receive systems such as NitroBee, Quin Tracks, and GT Members. But it cannot be easily converted to full two-way comms after purchase.

When is the R1-N the Right Choice?

The R1-N is the right choice only if you are certain you will never run a radio or intercom system. This might apply to:

  • Karting (where radio comms are not typically used)
  • Solo track day driving where no crew communication is required
  • Drivers who already have a separate radio system and only need one-way receive via NitroBee or Quin Tracks

Important: Many drivers buy the R1-N thinking they won't need comms, then find themselves wanting radio capability later. The R1-F gives you that option from day one. The price difference is $300 — far less than the cost of regret.
