Rex Harris: Motorsport Radio Experience Since 1975

Harris Race Radios™ draws on Rex Harris's radio-engineering career and motorsport communications work, alongside Aaron Harris's racing and race-engineering experience. Rex's first motorsport radio communications work was in 1975; that is not a claim that the business was founded in 1975.

Rex's Radio Engineering Background

Rex passed the NZRTC engineer exam in 1972 while working for broadcasting organisation NZBC. He subsequently worked as an engineer at Tait Radio Communications. His first motorsport radio communications work followed in 1975. These are milestones in Rex's career, not dates for the founding of Harris Race Radios™.

Motorsport Experience

Rex brings radio-engineering experience to motorsport communications. Aaron Harris has competed in events including the Bathurst 1000 and Barcelona 24 Hour and brings racing and professional race-engineering experience to equipment selection and system compatibility. Aaron is a MotorSport NZ Licence Examiner for licences; that role does not certify helmets, harnesses or radio equipment.

Radio Authority and Practical Advice

Rex is an official New Zealand RSM Approved Radio Certifier. His authority concerns radio equipment and the applicable New Zealand requirements; it does not mean every radio sold is automatically legal in NZ or Australia.
